David Norris has over 20 years experience in Analytical Chemistry.
Since graduating from University with a degree in Marine Chemistry, David has worked in diverse branches of Analytical Chemistry. Starting his career at M-Scan, David conducted Mass Spectrometry based testing for the oil industry, from site surveys both off and on shore to laboratory experiments.
David then joined SAC to help with drinking water analysis, taking responsibility for Sales and Marketing.
David quickly decided to move back to laboratory work, joining Technichem Laboratories at an early stage in their development. David was instrumental in growing the business to a predominant force in the contaminated land market, working as the Departmental Manager of the Organics Team.
David then took day to day responsibility for Oxford Analytical, a well know Pesticide laboratory, working for the owner, before starting up DNAL in 2005.
David is a Chartered member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
David has overall responsibility for the running of the business, with specific emphasis on managing our team of talented Chemists and our laboratories.
Kirsty spent nearly 20 years working in the Human Resources profession prior to joining DNAL full time.
After studying Business Studies, Kirsty gained her professional Human Resources qualification working for Panell Kerr Forster, a firm of Chartered Accountants based in Central London.
Upon qualifying as a Chartered H.R. professional, Kirsty joined Liberty International PLC where she became Head of Human Resources in 2001. Kirsty worked closely with the Board and Executive Directors, taking responsibility for both strategic and day to day Human Resources issues within the dynamic FTSE 100 Company, and leading a small team of H.R. professionals. Kirsty spent a total of 15 years working at Liberty International, who owned 15 regional shopping centres in the UK together with other iconic UK landmarks such as Covent Garden, Earls Court and Olympia.
Kirsty was instrumental in the formation of DNAL and joined DNAL full time in May 2009. Kirsty is responsible for strategic business development and the day to day management of the business.
DNAL is a small, friendly family owned and managed business based in Dartford, Kent.
DNAL is owned and managed by David Norris (Managaing Director) and Kirsty Norris (Commercial Director).
We have a small professional team of 8 Chemists, of various levels of experience and seniority, 2 Quality Managers and 1 Archivist.
Due to our continued expansion, we regularly recruit Graduate Chemists. The skills we are looking for are accuracy, commitment and, most importantly a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to work as part of a team, together with a degree in a relevant subject.
