Physical/Chemical Characteristics and Stability
Accelerated Stability Tests
Tests are often performed at 37°C, 40°C or 45°C during 1, 2, 3 months or more with or without humidity control points
Generally, this would be across a range of colours and fragrances
Test for product and packaging type
Colour, odour and appearance
Weight changes
Changes in the container
pH and Acidity / Alkalinity
Viscosity
Analytical data in relation to other parameters for specific product types
This could be the measurement of specific active ingredients or co-formulants, or other physical tests depending on the type of formulation. DNAL can analyse for Organic and Inorganic compounds along with specific low level metal impurities, for example Mercury and Hexavalent Chromium
Temperature cycling and/or “freeze-thaw” tests
Vibration and Friability testing for granules and tablets
Light Stability
ATNC Analysis of apparent total nitrosamines in cosmetics
DNAL can resolve the Nitrosamines issue as an actual total measured value using Thermal Energy Analyzer (TEA) to generate a total of all potential nitrosamines.
Alternatively, DNAL can address total nitrosamines using one of the many available testing lists using an LC triple-quadrupole testing schedule.
